I had never paid much attention to the shoes I wore when running until I got my Hokas. Up until then, I just picked a running shoe that looked cute, was comfortable enough as I walked up and down the aisle of the store, and was labeled as a “running shoe.” This resulted in quite a bit of knee pain for me by the third mile of my runs.
